Ruby-crowned Kinglet

The Ruby-crowned Kinglet is a very small little bird, that looks quite different from its cousin the Golden-crowned Kinglet. They seem to be much less prevalent, as well. I have only seen this little bird on two separate occasions.
The Ruby-crowned Kinglet is one of those little birds that may be found among flocks of Juncos, Chickadees and Red-breasted Nuthatches. When any of these birds are spotted, it is worthwhile to stop and watch for a while to see what other species may be grouped together.

Sometimes the red crown may not be visible. This little bird will flash it when it is agitated. Hope I didn't upset this one.
